Juan Carlos Diaz is the Chief Executive Officer of Absolute Medical Center, a multidisciplinary outpatient care facility at the forefront of community health and clinical innovation in South Florida. With a foundation in Dentistry and over a decade of clinical practice in both Venezuela and the U.S., Mr. Diaz has built a patient-focused organization that blends operational excellence with a strong culture of care.
As CEO, Mr. Diaz leads strategic initiatives, oversees clinical infrastructure, and ensures compliance with regulatory and ethical standards. His leadership has enabled Absolute Medical Center to evolve into a dynamic site for both routine care and clinical research.
Mr. Diaz brings practical, hands-on experience to research operations through his academic background in clinical case design and outcomes analysis. He has led the integration of clinical trial capabilities into AMC’s workflows, positioning the center as a trusted partner for pharmaceutical studies and medical device investigations.
Mr. Diaz maintains close oversight of protocol execution, sponsor coordination, and site performance metrics—ensuring every study conducted at Absolute Medical Center reflects the highest standards of safety, integrity, and patient engagement.
He has built one of the few clinics in the region that is fully run and operated by qualified, licensed physicians, reinforcing a standard of clinical excellence rarely seen in outpatient settings. This model ensures that every patient encounter and every research interaction is grounded in expert care, accountability, and medical integrity.

Dr. Daniel Careaga is the Medical Director and Principal Investigator at Absolute Medical Center, and the founder of Careaga Plastic Surgery. With board certifications in both Plastic and General Surgery
, he brings over 20 years of clinical experience, surgical precision, and leadership in advancing outpatient and aesthetic medicine.
As a Principal Investigator, Dr. Careaga actively leads research initiatives across both centers, aligning real-world clinical practice with investigational protocols. Under his guidance, Absolute Medical Center has become a high-performing research site for pharmaceutical and medical device studies, with specialized capabilities in wound care, surgical recovery, and device-based therapies.
In parallel, Careaga Plastic Surgery—his state-of-the-art surgical facility—serves as a satellite research site for more complex, procedure-based studies that require surgical infrastructure, advanced monitoring, and experienced perioperative care teams. This dual-site model enables Dr. Careaga to execute trials with diverse protocols and technical requirements while maintaining clinical excellence and regulatory compliance.
He completed his training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Wayne State University, following a General Surgery residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. His academic background includes published research in wound healing, surgical outcomes, and reconstructive innovations, which now inform his clinical trial oversight and protocol execution.
Dr. Careaga remains actively involved in all aspects of study design and implementation—from feasibility assessment and subject safety to data integrity—making him a trusted leader for both sponsors and collaborators seeking high-quality research environments in outpatient and surgical care.

Barbara Garcia is the Clinical Research Coordinator at Absolute Medical Center, where she plays a pivotal role in managing and coordinating all aspects of clinical trials. A foreign-trained medical doctor, Barbara brings a strong foundation in clinical science and patient care to her role, combining medical knowledge with operational excellence to ensure every study is conducted with rigor, accuracy, and compassion.
With over 15 years of experience in clinical research, Barbara oversees trial activities from startup through closeout. Her responsibilities include regulatory submissions, participant screening and enrollment, informed consent documentation, visit coordination, source data collection, and sponsor communication. She ensures strict adherence to study protocols, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, and institutional policies—helping to uphold the highest ethical and scientific standards at Absolute Medical Center.
Barbara’s medical background uniquely positions her to understand both the clinical and investigational sides of patient care. Her ability to interpret complex protocols, anticipate potential challenges, and ensure real-time compliance makes her a trusted partner to Principal Investigators, sponsors, and regulatory monitors. She is highly experienced in managing studies involving pharmaceuticals, biologics, and advanced medical devices such as Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) systems.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Barbara is deeply committed to creating a culturally sensitive and welcoming environment for diverse patient populations. She guides participants through every stage of the research process with professionalism, clarity, and empathy—building trust and supporting strong retention throughout each study.
